As part of a full-service firm, Italian Latham lawyers regularly assist clients with:

Opportunities for Interns and Trainees

An internship or traineeship at Latham is a great opportunity to gain professional experience with some of the best lawyers in the market and to be involved in some of the most significant domestic and international transactions.

Our small working teams will give you a chance to work with senior associates and partners on a daily basis so you will have the opportunity learn each step of a matter.

Typical responsibilities include:

  • Legal research
  • Drafting contracts and other ancillary documents in Italian and English
  • Due diligence (e.g., reviewing documentation about a company, highlighting and describing issues, and identifying potential solutions)
  • Project management (e.g., organizing the implementation, signing, and closing of a transaction)

2024 Open Day

Latham & Watkins is pleased to invite 4th and 5th year University Law students to attend our annual Open Day, which will be held in person in our Milan office on the afternoon of October 30 and the morning of October 31.

During the event, students will have the chance to:

  • Get an up-close look at our Firm and its main departments
  • Participate in practical and stimulating workshops
  • Interact with our attorneys and some of our clients during a dedicated panel

The Open Day will take place over two half-days with a maximum of 30 students in attendance. Priority will be given to students who demonstrate a good command of the English language and an academic average above 28.

How to Apply

We are always looking for talented, ambitious people, who share our core values — demonstrating knowledge and expertise, as well as soft skills and emotional intelligence.

Ideal candidates possess an Italian law degree (final score of 100/110 or better) and — as a large part of our work takes place in English — excellent English language skills. 

Prior experience in corporate or finance law is appreciated, especially if acquired at a major law firm. An LLM degree is considered a plus.

In addition to talent and knowledge, we’re looking for people with good communication skills, varied life experiences, and who remain grounded while aspiring to great heights.
